"Seafarer": Individuals seeking maritime employment through our agency.
"Employer": Shipowners, operators, or manning agents hiring seafarers via our services.
"User": Any person or organization using our platform or services.
2. Nature of Our Service
Wagenborg Crew Management B.V. specializes in recruiting, screening, and placing qualified seafarers with reputable employers in the maritime industry. We facilitate connections and may be the legal employer if explicitly agreed in writing.
3. Employment Terms Highlighted
We work closely with employers to ensure that employment offers include the following key benefits whenever possible:
Job Security and Flexible Planning We prioritize reliable placements with employers who offer clear contractual terms, fair rotations, and planning that respects seafarers’ personal needs.
Competitive Salary and timely payment Employers provide salary packages based on all-in monthly wages. Salary ranges are communicated transparently during recruitment process. Our commitment to timely payment ensures that employees review their compensation on schedule, providing financial stability and reinforcing a culture of reliability and respect.
Free Internet On Board Most positions offered through our agency include free onboard internet access for crew welfare and communication with family.
Reimbursement of STCW Registration and Certification Where applicable, seafarers may be reimbursed for costs associated with maintaining or renewing mandatory STCW certifications.
Career Development and On-the-Job Guidance We partner with employers who support continuous training, mentorship, and career progression for seafarers.
Note: Specific terms may vary by employer, vessel type, and/or flag state requirements. Final contractual details are between the seafarer and the employer.
4. Recruitment and Placement Process
Seararers must provide accurate and truthful information in CVs, applications, and documents.
Employers are responsible for providing accurate job descriptions, contract terms, and compliance with applicable maritime and labor laws.
Wagenborg Crew Management B.V. reserves the right to screen, verify, and select candidates based on employer requirements.
5. Compliance with Maritime Regulations
Employers and seafarers must comply with:
International conventions (STCW, MLC 2006, IMO).
Flag state requirements.
Port state regulations.
Applicable Company Policies
6. Fees
Our services for seafarers are free of charge. Allways.
Employers may be charged fees for recruitment, placement, or crewing services as agreed contractually.
7. Data Privacy and Confidentiality
User data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Statement.
Employers agree to use personal data only for legitimate hiring purposes.
8. Limitations of Liability
Wagenborg Crew Management B.V. is not responsible for:
Employment contract enforcement between seafarers and employers.
Variations in salary or benefits ultimately offered.
Onboard conditions beyond our control.
Disputesarising during or after employment.
We act as an intermediary and facilitator in good faith, helping seafarers secure quality placements with reputable employers.
