Join Royal Wagenborg as a Maritime Officer for our European Coaster Fleet. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels both in a Nautical and Technical position.


Life on board our coaster fleet is typically very personal and team-based. On board, our Maritime Officers play an active and essential role in the safe, efficient, and successful operation of the vessel.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee navigation and cargo operations

  • Maintain compliance with maritime regulations

  • Coordinate with the crew for smooth sailing

  • Conduct safety inspections and drills

  • Technical (Watch) Duties and Maintenance

Job requirements

  • Valid applicable Certificate of Competence (STCW VII/2 or STCW II/2)

  • Valid STCW Training Certificates

  • Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken)

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a multicultural crew

  • Experience with general cargo trade

  • Experience with mixed Nationality crew

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cargo handling operations and safety procedures

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging maritime environments

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and operational requirements
